Environmental Policy

Fujikura Europe Ltd is working closely with customers to ensure that our products and manufacturing process meet environmental standards.

Some of these activities include:

  • Restricting hazardous substances including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
  • Built-in procurement specs requiring suppliers to conform to environmental specifications.
  • We have changed our non-conforming materials handling process to include restricted material.
  • Conducting final inspections before products released to the customer to ensure conformance and environmental compliance.

It is the intention of Fujikura to work towards full compliance with the RoHS directive by the end of 2005, however the situation today, is that not all materials and processes are available to address this directive.

In most cases, but not all, Fujikura will issue a new part number ending in either FG, FA or FS indicating that the product is a lead free part and will comply with the RoHS directive. It is also possible for Fujikura to issue a certificate of conformity for this part number.

Where this or any other information regarding RoHS data is required, please contact us
