Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive
The European Commission has passed legislation that will restrict the use of some substances in most electrical and electronic equipment starting 1 July 2006.
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive requires that mercury, cadmium, lead, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) be eliminated from most electrical and electronic equipment.
