Small Form Factor Connectors Ease Fibre Optic Integration

Fujikura DDK is very pleased to be able to announce the availability of an RoHS compliant alternative to all of the products within our range of Circular connectors.

Under the requirements of the RoHS Directive (Restriction on Hazardous Substances), issued by the EU, there are 6 substances have been banned in the manufacturing of electrical components, one of which is Hexavalent Chromium.

Circular connectors

Fujikura DDK have removed all 6 substances, which gives our connectors full RoHS compliance. Hexavalent Chromium is used to give the ‘Olive Drab’ colour and the new RoHS compliant versions are now black, as Hexavalent Chromium has been removed. We will still offer both non-RoHS and RoHS connectors.

Due to the RoHS directive, Europe and Japan are in the process of banning many hazardous substances by July 1, 2006. As the world moves forward to reduce or eliminate environmentally hazardous materials, it’s become clear that the semiconductor industry must eliminate the use of hazardous materials in the production of their components.

Fujikura DDK are now able to offer RoHS compliant circular connector products to our customers, conforming with the directives of the EU's Restriction on Hazardous Substances, and also in line with our own dedication to our environmental policy, more details of which can be found here.

New part numbers are assigned to RoHS compliant products to distinguish from the current Non-RoHS compliant products. Click here for details of the changes.
