Fujikura Ltd. (head office: Koto-ku, Tokyo, president: Kazuhiko Ohashi, hereinafter referred to as "Fujikura") has announced the acquisition of a 60% equity stake in the wire harness manufacturer Auxiliar de Componentes Electricos, SA (head office: Zaragoza, Spain, president: Ms. Pilar Bude Perez hereinafter referred to as "ACE"). On September 25 of this year, the two companies signed the share purchase agreement. Fujikura is building a global network of manufacturing and marketing centers to support its business in the automotive electrical/electronics segment, and in particular wire harnesses, and has already established a presence in Asia, especially in China, and in North America.
The establishment of Fujikura Automotive Europe in KoIn, Germany in January of this year provided Fujikura with a technical design and development center in Europe to approach European automobile and parts manufacturers; however, with the realization of the new equity stake in ACE, Fujikura has secured a solid European base with a range of operations that encompasses manufacturing. As a result, Fujikura has added the fourth hub to its global automotive electronics business network.
Through the manufacturing and marketing centers of ACE, Fujikura aims at further extension of its activities on the global stage while expanding its automotive electronics business.
