The Image Fibre can be supplied with a silicone resin, epoxy resin, or Polyimide coating. All three coatings offer the fibre high mechanical durability against handling and repeated bending (within the minimum bending radius limitations). The Polyimide coating also offers high resistance to chemicals and heat (up to 300 degrees), and can be used in medical endoscopes where sterilisation is required by use of an autoclave.
