Principle of Image Fibre
Image fibre is a kind of multi-core fibre that consists of a large number of cores (pixels) set in a coherent configuration and common cladding. Each pixel can independently transmit light as with a conventional optical fibre.
An image projected on to one end of the image fibre is divided into many parts by each pixel and delivered to the other end of the fibre. Therefore the image can be transmitted as a whole over the entire length of the fibre.
Processing
Each image fiber can be specially processed with various grades of polish, or twisting can be applied for image rotation and lens assembling. Fujikura can also create semi-manufactured or complete fiber scopes to suit each customer’s specific needs.
