In addition, Fujikura Europe Ltd offers its very own Product Awareness day held in-house at its Head office in Chessington, Surrey, (Junction 9 - M25).

The day is FREE and covers an introduction into fibre optic communications and best practice in splicing & test & measurement. Also supplemented by additional support workshops in the afternoon to help increase and maximise your practical experience in the use of Fujikura products.

The day is divided into two sessions as follows:-

Morning session will cover theory:-

• basic introduction to fibre optic communications.
• advising on which product suits your specific requirement i.e. OTDR dynamic range or maximum test length.
• best practice in setup and use of each product.
• helping to understand and solve problems you may experience.
• understanding loss testing and OTDR results. 

Afternoon session is hands on and will cover:-

• demonstrations on OTDR, Loss testing, Fibre identifier, Splicing and Cleaving.
• how to achieve good cleave angles every time (good cleaves means good splicing).
• fibre preparation and how to achieve good splice results.
• best practice for loss testing i.e. working on a 1km multi-mode simulator compared to 14km single mode simulator.
• how to get the most from your OTDR.
• other product demonstrations i.e. certification tester.
