Fujikura's cables are made to the highest standards by our Japanese and Malaysian factories and are able to withstand the harshest conditions with great durability, reliability and safety. Our cables have demonstrated outstanding performance in a wide range of condition such as:

  • Directly buried underground
  • Installed within underground ducts
  • Above ground and fastened securely to cable ladder rack or
    tray and in open air (exposed to direct sunlight)
  • In trenches (back-filled with sand)
  • In conduit

The conductors used are plain annealed copper stranded wires. The wires are available in either class 2 or class 5 in accordance to the IEC 60228 standard.

The conductors are further classified into the following types:

1)      Concentric or circular stranded

2)      Unidirectional lay

3)      Compacted Conductor

4)      Flexible Conductor


Insulation Material

Depending on the operating temperature, the following types of insulation materials are available:

  • Polyethylene (PE) up to 70°C
  • Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) up to 70°C
  • Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) up to 90°C
  • Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) up to 90°C


To ensure adequate physical protection, hard-drawn Aluminium Wire Armoured (AWA) for single core cables and Steel WIre Armoured (SWA) for multi-core cables are available.


Safety Standards

If required, the cables can be made to several or all of the following safety standards:

  1. Flame Retardant according to IEC 60332-1
  2. Non‑flame/fire propagation according to IEC 60332-3
  3. Fire resistance according to IEC 60331
  4. Low level of smoke emission according to IEC 61034-1/2
  5. Amount of halogen acid gas according to IEC 60754-1
  6. Low limit of acidity of gases according to IEC 60754-2


These safety features are especially suited for applications where uncompromising safety is required such as emergency and fire circuits.


Cable Markings

Voltage rating and manufacturername are normally embossed on the outer sheath, however, more information may be indelibly marked or embossed.
