Active Fusion Control Technology
Active Fusion Control Technology by cleave condition: Bad cleave end face quality is one of the main causes of high splice loss. The 90S+ addresses this by analysing the condition of both left and right cleave end faces and then applying optimal fusion control. The result is a significant reduction in splice loss and less chance of having to rework splices.
Active Fusion Control Technology by fibre brightness: Fusion is easily affected by changes in the environment. The 90S+ uses real-time fusion parameter control by analysing the fibre brightness intensity during splicing, which contributes to stable, low-loss splice results.
Active Blade Management Technology
The 90S+ and CT50 fibre cleaver are equipped with wireless data connectivity. This capability provides automatic cleaver blade rotation when the 90S+ judges that the blade is worn. The 90S+ displays the remaining blade life and informs the user when a blade height change, blade position change, or new blade is required. The 90S+ can connect link up to two CT50 cleavers simultaneously.
Enhanced splice quality
Because the 90S+ uses Fujikura’s AFCT and ABMT technologies, it is powerfully equipped to minimise the occurrence of high splice loss and the additional time and money required to rework splices. The 90S+ is a splicer that delivers confidence to its operators.
When the frequency of large cleave angles increases, Active Blade Management Technology will detect the increasing ratio point and automatically rotate the blade position. Through this process, Active Blade Management Technology significantly reduces the frequency of large cleave angles occurring, but even they do occur, Active Fusion Control Technology can reduce high splice loss through its delivery of precise fusion control.
Faster operation
The automated features of the 90S+ reduce installation times by more than 50% over the previous 70+ model. With this splicer, an operator can complete the entire splice process from splicing to heating without touching the machine and only moving the fibre. The 90S+’s automatic wind protector, which has a new and improved design, makes an obvious contribution here (but can also be used manually).
ABMT and AFCT are intelligent, time saving features, but even the length of the sheath clamp makes an important contribution to the 90S+’s quick operation. The shape of the sheath clamp is optimized for 60mm length sleeves. The length from the splice point to the edge of the sheath clamp is 30mm, which makes it easy to centre the protection sleeve over the splice by using your fingers to reference the splice point.
The fibre retention clamps also support automated operations. When the sheath clamps open automatically after splicing, the fibre retention clamps gently hold the spliced fibre to keep it from flying out. The retention clamps release when the fibre is lifted by the operator.
Multifunction case and workstation
There are multiple ways to utilise the iconic Fujikura carrying case. The 90S+ is ready for work just by opening the case, but it is also possible to use the 90S+ on top of the case or only with the work tray depending preference and the work environment.
The workstation has many functions. Two large storage drawers provide a convenient place to keep tools or spare battery packs and because the work tray can be divided in two, it is configurable to fit your different workspaces.
Toolless electrodes and illumination
Electrodes for the 90S+ come as an assembly and including the fixing screw, which doesn’t require a screwdriver – making for easy electrode replacement. The transparent electrode covers support wider illumination of the V-groove. As the sheath clamp opens on the opposite side of the illumination lamp, the sheath clamp area is illuminated without shadow.
