The CT-58 cleaver is designed specifically for cleaving silica fibres with 80μm cladding and up to 400μm coatings. It delivers unprecedented durability and simplistic maintenance unseen with any other cleaver, in part thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone app, which makes it convenient to managed blade life. With motorised push-button blade rotation and a convenient thumbwheel for blade height adjustment, routine cleaver adjustments have also never been easier.

The 16-position blade yields 60,000 cleaves, resulting in extended intervals between blade replacement. The CT-58 is designed for use with either Fujikura FH-100 or FH-70 series fibre holders but can also be used with the optional adapter plate to eliminate the need for fibre holders, if desired. When used with the optional spacers for the cleaver and RS-03 thermal stripper, six different cleave lengths can be easily attained.

Splice+ is a smartphone application that works in cooperation with Fujikura's splicers, cleavers and ribbon fibre strippers which have Bluetooth capability.


Automatic blade rotation

The fusion splicer and CT-58 fibre cleaver has wireless data connectivity which allows automatic cleaver blade rotation when the splicer judges the blade is worn.

Blade life management

The fusion splicer indicates the remaining blade life and also informs the user when a blade height change is required.

Easy maintenance

The CT-58 has a user replaceable blade and rubber clamps, so there’s no need to send the device to a service centre for blade or clamp replacement.

Easy access and longer stripped fibres

The CT-58 opens 100 degrees to offer easy access and can accommodate longer stripped fibres than previous models.

Single action operation

The CT-58 cleaves and collects the fibre scrap with a single press action.
