Our ultra-fast CHAdeMO-compliant DC charging cable is designed to support a greener future by meet the demands of increasingly popular electric vehicles.
Fujikura first introduced its high-power EV connector at the Tokyo Smart Grid Exhibition in June 2010, with the key benefit of increasing the practicality of electric vehicles by reducing charging times to less than half an hour.
Our charger is compliant with the CHAdeMO standard; "CHAdeMO" is an abbreviation for "CHArge de Move", equivalent to Charge for moving. CHAdeMO signifies is both the name of the DC charging technology designed for electric vehicles and that of the organisation tasked to develop the technology. CHaAdeMo is being proposed globally as an industry standard for EV charging and is currently the most prevalent charging standard in the United Kingdom, with over 4,100 charging points as of 2021, and the backing of 33 manufacturers such as Toyota, Nissan, Subaru and Mitsubishi.
With the increasingly stringent CO2 regulations and demand for more environmentally friendly vehicles, electric vehicles are at the advent of permeating through the mass market and look poised to take over from petrol- and diesel-powered vehicles. Although EVs have progressively improved to be able to travel further, faster and more cost-efficiently, the relatively lengthy charging times remain as one obstacle slowing down their implementation, adoption and practicality.
