Our high-quality, large diameter optical fibre cleavers are built to achieve low cleave angles with pristine end-faces for a vast array of fibre types.
These cleavers are heavily used in fibre preparation for fusion splicing of standard data communication fibres, octagonal or round large diameter fibres (LDF), polarisation maintaining fibres, photonic crystal fibres and even component manufacturing with capillary tubes, ball lenses, and end caps.
Application
Fujikura’s large diameter optical cleaver benefits in variety of specialty fibre optic industries, such as universities, R&D optical institutes, high power laser, photonics industries and medical applications.
Automation was a key theme during design of the CT-116. The aim was to enable smarter, faster, and more reliable decisions than previously capable via operator trial and error. The CT116 can automatically adjust the clamping force to provide the most optimal cleave angle for any fibre in the machine and the auto backstop position is newly automated to find the optimum location for best cleave angle performance.
As well as the flat cleave capability, the CT-116 primarily includes an angled cleaving feature which can cleave any special optical fibre between 0 to 15°.
