  • Patented Split V-groove and electrode systems
  • Fibre profile learning
  • Rotational Z stages for splicing Polarisation Maintaining Fibre (PMF)
  • Multiple enhanced power calibration methods

Overview

The specialty FSM-100 series offers a host of innovative technologies to address the rapidly expanding splicing needs for factory, manufacturing, laboratory, and R&D applications. The breadth and depth of capability offered by the FSM-100 series is revolutionising the way users splice various types of specialty fibres, LDFs, PMFs, head sensitive fibres and more.

With State of the ARC™ technology, our FSM-100 series sets the standard for fusion splicing with a multitude of new features designed to make splicing easier. The FSM-100P is designed with production in mind and is suitable for the most popular production workstations.

  • The FSM-100 series has the revolutionary Split V-groove clamping system. V-groove or clamp parts do not need to be changed, and it is programmable for any fibre or coating size and will provide reliable results on fibre alignment.
  • The Plasma Zone fibre positioning system incorporates electrode positioning techniques to provide unprecedented versatility for splicing LDF, heat sensitive fibres or small diameter fibres.
  • Thanks to the Fujikura Sweep Arc technology, the FSM-100 series is suitable for longer fibre tapering applications.
  • Incorporating cold splice image (CSI) and warm splice image (WSI) technologies, the optical analysis system provides a number of advanced features including improved loss estimation capabilities, fibre image performance with both large and small diameter fibres or heat sensitive fibres.
  • Users can program multi-step glass processing operations to include non-splicing operations such as generate tapers or ball lenses.
  • The Fujikura FSM-100P specialty fibre fusion splicer now includes a new observation method for fibre rotational alignment.
  • With a new fibre imaging technology, Interrelation Profile Alignment 2 (IPA2) and splicing capabilities are possible with virtually any polarization maintaining (PM) fibre type.
  • IPA2 provides an enhanced alignment technique for shaped and multi-core fibres. This is in addition to the previously existing FSM-100P/P+ alignment capabilities.
  • Applications

The FSM-100P is ideal for fibre optic component and equipment manufacturing, fibre laser manufacturers, university research institutes, medical & biological R&D, oil and gas, aerospace, and defence industries.
