Quick stripping
A razor blade is applied to the fibre with specific tension and the coating is automatically and precisely planed along the fibre. This process requires less time than the conventional methods of acid or heat.
Safe, high quality stripping
Because hot acid is not used, the operation is much safer. Degradation of the fibre quality is kept at a minimum as the glass surface is not damaged by oxidization of the coating during burning or arcing. When processed, the coating edge takes on a bevelled shape, which can be very helpful depending on the following process for the fibre.
Adjustable parameters
Many parameters, such as the razor blade position and stroke, and fibre rotation angle are all adjustable for various fibre sizes and coating materials.
Advanced window stripping capability
Standard polyacrylate coated fibres, polyimide coated fibres, carbon coated fibres and gold coated fibre can be stripped up to 25mm of strip length.
Tension adjustment capability
For 80 micron cladding fibres (up to 100 gf)
